Jan Zobel, EA, competed in the recent
Gay Games in Sydney in the Novice Mountain Biking event and earned a Gold Medal! She relates that the five mile race was very hard, from biking through sand to trying not to swallow the flies that accompanied the
riders all through the race! Still, she says it was a once in a lifetime opportunity and she especially enjoyed being out and about Sydney and having the opportunity to chat informally with lesbians and gay men from
all over the world who were there for the games. Gay Games Sydney attracted 11,000 participants and about 40,000 people over all. Jan was part of the 500-athlete strong Team San Francisco. The Alliance can be proud of
Jan's participation in this world class event!
